About Dr. Brian Kleinberg

My name is Dr. Brian Kleinberg. I have been a Chiropractor and Corporate Health Consultant since 1982. I welcome the opportunity to assist you, your family members, work colleagues and friends by treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions. Please read on below to discover more about my experiences as a professional and how I treat my patients.

About My Practice

I attended the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto and graduated in 1982.  I established my chiropractic office at Dufferin and Steeles in Toronto in March 1983 and developed my current multi-disciplinary Wellness Centre since 1990.  I moved to 390 Steeles Avenue West in Thornhill in March 2007.  I treat a wide range of people from children to seniors. My practice is diversified in that I treat conditions related to personal injuries, car accidents, sports injuries, and chronic pain. I have also established a very large occupational health practice dealing with the treatment and prevention of worker’s injuries. Over the years, I have learned and acquired numerous techniques and treatment skills, which are applicable to a diverse group of conditions including spinal pain, carpal tunnel syndrome and tendonitis.  I also provide other services such as orthotic therapy, postural education and corporate health and wellness services.

About Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a natural healing art which is applied by hand.  I am a natural health practitioner. Therefore, I will only use natural techniques and non-invasive therapies to treat your condition.  I am not licensed to prescribe medication or perform surgery.  My goal as a chiropractor is to successfully diagnose and treat conditions that affect your musculoskeletal and nervous systems. Most problems treated in my clinic are pain disorders of various types. If you were referred by your family physician I will be in touch with him/her verbally and in writing to assist your care. If at any stage of my care of your condition I consider medication or surgery to be contemplated, I will advise you to see your family physician or recommend an appropriate specialist.

About Your Condition

I am often asked, "How long will I require treatment or when will I feel better?"  The answer depends on how long you have been having your problem, what caused it, your age, your relative state of health and many important lifestyle factors.  Although I have no crystal ball, I will give you my fair estimate as to how long it may take to at least feel some improvement based on my experience and understanding of your problem. What you are suffering from may be like another individual’s, but the cause and effect are unique to you and so comparisons to what others have experienced is not always accurate.  You must be patient with your pain condition. Sometimes, especially with long-term chronic problems or serious accidents, results can take a long time.  My commitment is to always do my best to help you but if results are not forthcoming, I will search for an alternative technique or health-care provider for your needs.

About Your Symptoms

Your symptoms may include pain, stiffness, numbness and weakness.  Although symptoms are telltale signs that you have a problem, they are not the only focus of my care. Certainly, I want to rid you of your pain and make you feel better again. I also want to look beyond your pain and try to help identify the reason the problem occurred.  Your condition may relate to various lifestyle issues such as weight problems, lack of exercise and sedentary conditions (lack of movement at work).  Your treatments will therefore include not only pain or symptom relief, but also recommendations for significant lifestyle changes.  I will help motivate you towards realizing your optimal health if you are prepared to move towards that goal.

About the Conditions That I Treat

Many people associate chiropractic treatment with the spine only, but this is not the case in my practice. I have extensive experience successfully treating extremity problems that may or may not be related to spinal problems. Some of these conditions can be fully rehabilitated, such as ankle sprains and tendonitis. Other conditions are more chronic in nature, like arthritis. In such cases I talk about pain management, not cure. With chronic recurrent pain conditions, the goal in care is to keep a patient pain-free while educating him or her on proper lifestyle techniques to help cope with the condition. Here is a partial list of extremity conditions I often treat:

  • Ankle sprains (non-fractured); Plantar Fasciitis and heel spurs

  • Tendinitis of the foot and ankle

  • Flat feet including overpronation (treated by orthotic therapy)

  • Patellar tendinitis (tendonitis of the front of the knee)

  • Bursitis of the knee; ligament sprains of the knee

  • Osteoarthritis of the knee

  • Shin splints

  • Hip bursitis; hip muscular and ligament strains

  • Injuries of the hamstrings, quadriceps and groin muscles

  • Rotator cuff tendonitis; frozen shoulder

  • Bursitis of the shoulder; shoulder separation

  • Biceps tendinitis

  • Osteoarthritis of the shoulder

  • Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis); forearm tendinitis

  • De Quervain's Tenosynovitis; Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

  • Trigger fingers and ganglions

  • Extensor and flexor tendonitis of the wrist

  • Joints sprains of the fingers

The more traditional problems seen in my chiropractic office include spinal problems, muscle spasms, postural strain, temporomandibular joint problems (jaw problems), tension and migraine headaches. There are many musculoskeletal conditions amenable to my care so it’s best to ask if I can help. Please inquire regarding a condition you or someone else may have and we will let you know if we can help.

About Maintenance

I have a significant number of regular and occasional maintenance patients.  These patients have recognized the value of regular chiropractic maintenance due to their previous history of pain and injury, occupational hazards and ongoing lifestyle issues.  By receiving maintenance care, these patients have realized tremendous benefits to their overall sense of health and wellness.
